California’s Great America is committed to providing a safe environment for all of our guests and associates. All guests arriving at the park are electronically scanned with a handheld “wand” and/or metal detector.
Guests are also asked to open any backpacks, purses or waist packs for a brief examination

Do you have to wear a mask at Great America?
The State of California recommends that Park guests be either fully vaccinated, obtain a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of attending the park, or wear a face covering.
Face Coverings are strongly recommended in all Indoor Public Settings regardless of vaccination status

Can you wear a fanny pack on rides at Great America?
The fanny pack will have to be put in a locker for most rides
. The belt will not be a problem once you pass through security. The buckle would probably set off the alarm and you will probably have to take it off to pass through.
Can I bring a water bottle to Great America?
No food allowed. What you can do is
bring empty water bottles that you can buy at the sports store, each person ca carry one in, and fill it up in the park
. This can save you a few dollars.
Can I wear a skirt to Great America?

Guests wearing character themed outfits may not sign autographs for other guests or represent themselves as a park associate.

Wear a fanny pack or use a VERY secure pocket that zips closed
. The coasters are intense. A cross body bag would make it very difficult to secure the harnesses on the rides.
Can I wear a beanie on a roller coaster?
Remember to take them off
if you’re going on roller coasters or hanging upside down on any rides, hats do count as loose articles. A lost hat could really damper your day of fun at an amusement park.
How do you carry stuff at an amusement park?
It’s recommended that you
bring a small backpack or fanny pack
to store any belongings along with you during the day. If you tend to get thirsty or hungry, pack your bag with small bottles of water and snacks you can eat right away. The backpack will also come in handy when it comes time to go on rides!

The California’s Great America Pre-K Pass is available for kids who are between the ages of
3–5
at the time of activation. When do I need to activate the pass? You must register for the Pre-K Pass online and activate the pass at California’s Great America on any public operating day through Sept.
Are the rides open during Halloween Haunt Great America?
During Haunt, the park had
18 different open attractions, which included roller coasters, thrill rides, family and kid rides, as well as mazes
. The attendees waited in long lines to get into these attractions during its five open hours.
Is Great America open year round?
The park is
not open year round
(it closes for part of the winter) but check for special events and festivals scattered through the calendar, such as spring’s Easter Egg-stravaganza, the Red, White, & Brews food festival over July 4th, and Winterfest during the holiday season.
What should I wear to Great America?
Dress comfortably.
You’ll also want to wear
comfortable clothes and shoes
so you can move around easily all day. Additionally, don’t forget your sun protection! The hot summer sun can be a burden on your day, so be sure to bring sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and plenty of water so you can stay protected.

you can put it on the floor at your feet

Can I wear a hat at Disneyland?
Themed T-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts and hats are acceptable
. Acceptable accessories include: transparent wings, plastic light sabers, toy swords and tutus. Headwear may be worn as long as it does not cover the face. Masks of any kind may not be worn, except for medical purposes.
