Do I lose early bird if I change my flight?
It doesn't matter what flight you change to
. This will keep EarlyBird on the reservation and you won't lose the money you paid for it. When you finally decide on a flight you actually want, change your reservation again and you'll have EarlyBird on it.
Is it worth getting early bird check in on Southwest?
If you won't be available to check in to your flight at the 24-hour mark and you have travel companions you want to sit with or you don't want a middle seat,
you should strongly consider paying for the early check-in

Does it matter when you purchase early bird check in?
This means that
purchasing EarlyBird Check-In won't necessarily guarantee you an A boarding position
. Does that mean there's a boarding order within the EarlyBirders? The short answer is yes. Basically, the earlier you purchase your ticket with the Early-Bird add-on, the higher your boarding number will be.
Can I use travel funds to upgrade?

can only be used to purchase a ticket
and cannot be used to purchase EarlyBird Check-In or upgraded boarding positions that are available to purchase at the gate.
Can I use my Southwest travel funds for drinks?
A flight credit can only be used toward the purchase of another flight.
