Sentinel® is to be given

Flea Prevention for Dogs
Trifexis kills adult fleas so quickly that they cannot reproduce, and will do a great job of flea control as a standalone product. Sentinel, on the other hand,
does not kill adult fleas but prevents flea eggs from hatching
, which provides environmental control of the flea population.
Can you use Sentinel and frontline together?
Yes you can give your dog Sentinel and a Frontlline spot-on between the shoulder blades or use Frontline spray at the same time
. Sentinel will stop the development of flea eggs but will not kill adult fleas which Frontline does.
What happens if you miss a month of Sentinel?
If it has been less than two weeks since the missed dose, give your dog the dose immediately. If it has been over two weeks since the missed dose,
contact your vet, who will likely advise you to resume normal dosing next month and have the dog tested for heartworm in six months
.
Can dog lice live in carpet?
Carpets, floors, rugs, furniture and outdoor surfaces should be cleaned thoroughly
. Throw away or wash all pet bedding. Lice survive only 3-7 days off of the host, so unwashable items can be packed in sealed plastic bags for 4-6 weeks (allowing time for all eggs to hatch and die).

The following adverse reactions have been reported in dogs after administration of milbemycin oxime, lufenuron, or praziquantel:

What is the difference between Sentinel and Sentinel Spectrum?
Sentinel Spectrum is a chewable flavored tablet whereas Sentinel is just a flavored tablet
. Some dogs may prefer the soft, chewy consistency of Sentinel Spectrum.
Is Sentinel for fleas and ticks?

(prevents eggs/larva from moving on to an adult flea), heartworm prevention, and roundworm/hookworm/whipworm control also.
Can my dog still get fleas with Sentinel?

Can Sentinel Spectrum be cut in half?

What is the difference between Sentinel and Nexgard?

Sentinel is mainly used to prevent infestation, not an active one. Nexgard however treats active infestations of fleas and ticks
. Some pet owners may start on Nexgard to help with active infestations then switch to Sentinel as maintenance.
Does Sentinel Spectrum prevent fleas?

What is the difference between Sentinel and Heartgard?

Heartgard Plus contains Pyrantel Pamoate and Ivermectin, while Sentinel combines Lufenuron with Milbemycin Oxime

Do dogs need Bravecto and Sentinel?
Recommended Prevention for Dogs
In most healthy adult dogs, we recommend using both Sentinel and Bravecto
. Heartworms, intestinal parasites, fleas, and ticks are year-round concerns in our area that require year-round protection. Sentinel is a long standing oral heartworm prevention for dogs that is given once monthly.
How do you give Sentinel to a dog?

For dogs over 100 lbs, administer the appropriate combination of tablets. To ensure adequate absorption,
always administer SENTINEL FLAVOR TABS to dogs immediately after or in conjunction with a normal meal

How soon can I give my dog another flea treatment?
The known safe answer is to wait the period of time the product is supposed to work,
typically 30 days
, before reapplying. An alternative is to bathe the pet in a detergent shampoo (meant to strip off skin oils) and reapply after 24 hours.
Why does my dog keep getting fleas even after treatment?
Not treating often enough
Fleas go through a life cycle of egg, larvae, pupae and adult. Most flea treatments just kill adult fleas, but fleas can continue to emerge for months after you think an infestation has ended. When a newly emerged female flea finds a host, she can lay eggs within one day.
How long should you leave between worming and flea treatment?
Whilst our motto is “When it arrives in the post, it's time to dose” we recommend a
48-hour
gap between the application of topical flea and worm treatment. It does not matter which order the products are applied. The 48 hours simply allows each product to dry sufficiently.

How long can a dog live after being treated for heartworms?
Dogs in this advanced condition have a life expectancy of only

. Thankfully, a new medication has been developed for killing adult heartworms while having fewer dangerous side effects.
Can dog lice live in human hair?
Dog lice do not like to infest humans
. Most lice are quite species-specific; that is, dog lice like dogs and people lice like people. It is definitely possible for a dog louse to get on a person, and it might even bite or try to feed, but it will not set up an infestation.
How can I prevent my dog from getting lice?

Do dog lice jump?
