Can you drive to Reds Meadow?
When the Devils Postpile/Reds Meadow Shuttle Bus is not running, you may drive your vehicle into the valley
. Keep in mind that the road is narrow, steep, and descends almost 1,500 vertical feet from the Minaret Vista Station, where visitors pay a standard amenity fee of $10.
Is there cell service at Reds Meadow?
We have a payphone, but also, LTE data (cell phone) coverage extends over most of the valley west of Mammoth Mountain, including Red's Meadow
. You will easily be able to contact friends and family, and research the next part of your trip!
How do I get to Agnew Meadows?
Take US 395 to State Highway 203. Head west to and through the town of Mammoth Lakes. At the 2nd traffic light, turn right onto Minaret and continue up the mountain past Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge and Minaret Vista Station. Historically, there has been a high level of bear activity at Agnew Meadows Campground.
Can I sleep in my car at Red Rocks?
Leaving your car at Red Rocks:
Vehicles may be parked until 10 AM the day following a Red Rocks show
. This means you can safely leave your car at Red Rocks if you've had too much to drink, and you definitely should if that happens! Explore other Red Rocks Transportation options.

Is the road to Reds Meadows open?
The Reds Meadow Road, which provides access to Devils Postpile National Monument, is
closed for the season
. It typically opens sometime in June, conditions permitting.
Can you buy food at Muir Trail Ranch?
Yes. There is breakfast, lunch, and dinner
. Other than that, it's up to you. We offer horseback riding to various parts of the valley, and up the river to Kings Canyon National Park.
Is Reds Meadow shuttle running?
The Mammoth Mountain Bike Park Shuttle, which travels between the Village at Mammoth and the Adventure Center
runs from 9:00 am until 5:30 pm, at least every 30 minutes
. After 4:30, visitors can take the Reds Meadow/Devils Postpile buses back to the Village.
Can you drive to Agnew Meadows?

Drive to Minaret Summit, and continue another 2.6 miles to where the road makes a hairpin turn south
. Turn right here along a dirt road to reach the trailhead/campground. Be forewarned that the road is closed to passenger vehicles from Minaret Summit onwards during the day.

This easy

hike takes you to the base of Devils Postpile. It takes another 15 minutes uphill to reach the top of the postpile.

- Leave Agnew Meadow on High Trail (0 miles)
- Pass a wilderness sign and ascend switchbacks (0.4 miles)
- Pass perches with views of Shadow Lake (3.15 & 3.75 miles)
- Stay left last the easternmost trail to Clark Lakes (5.95 miles)
How do I get to ediza Lake?
To get to the trailhead:
Take Route 395 to Route 203 and drive 3.6 miles to Mammoth Lakes
. Turn right onto Minaret Road toward Mammoth Mountain. Reach the ski resort after 4 miles. Unless you are staying at a campground during your visit, park here and take the shuttle to Agnew Meadows.
Does Red Rocks parking fill up?

. The Upper North Lot offers by far the closest distance from parking to seating and tends to fill up the fastest.

What kind of rock is Devils Postpile?
Devils Postpile National Monument is renowned for its spectacular display of

How do you drive to Devils Postpile?
From U.S. Highway 395, drive 10 miles west on S.R. 203 to Minaret Vista and then another 8 miles on a paved, steep mountain road
. Please note that this road is single lane for approximately 3 miles. Most visitors must park at the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area and use the mandatory shuttle.

Located within Mammoth Mountain Ski Area but open to the public with no fee required, this trail starts from behind the Mammoth Mountain Inn and climbs gently for 1.5 miles through a forest of red fir and lodgepole pine, following the course of Minaret Road to the parking and picnic area at Minaret Vista.
