Can You Take Dogs To The Ekka?

Entry to the grounds is strictly from 6am

. All dogs must be benched by 8.45am. Dogs entered on their respective days must remain on exhibition in their allocated bench or area from 8.45am to 5pm. Any exhibitor who is unable to conform to these times and conditions should not submit an entry.

Can you buy ride tickets at the Ekka?


If you buy online during the Ekka show, you will be able to purchase you tickets at the same price as last year

. However if you buy at the gate on the day you will be paying more – around $1 to $2 more per person which may not seem like a lot but if you want to save some money, it’s wise to get your tickets in advance.

What happens at the Ekka?

The Ekka is Queensland’s largest annual event, which welcomes an average of 400,000 visitors each August.

The show welcomes 21,000 competition entries, 10,000 animals, and hours of free family entertainment, including a night program

. The Ekka features a sideshow alley, showbag pavilion, and nightly fireworks displays.

Do you have to pay for the rides at the Ekka?

We’ve listed the SINGLE PRICE cost of each ride, but

many offer bulk buys – eg $10 each but if you buy 4 tickets it is $35

. Strong winds can be detrimental to your trees, causing them to sway, pulling and stretching their roots, sometimes entirely uprooting them.

How can I get free Ekka tickets?

  1. Pass Outs may be claimed free of charge by Ekka Ticket holders at the gates, customer relations or any information booth within the Brisbane Showgrounds between 9am – 8pm on any day the ticket-holder enters the Ekka with an Ekka Ticket.
  2. Each Ekka Ticket holder is permitted to claim one (1) Pass Out per day only.

Can I get a refund on my Ekka tickets?

If the Ekka is cancelled due to COVID-19,

a full refund policy will apply to all tickets purchased
