Standard full-size bicycles may be transported in bicycle racks located in the baggage car
. This service is only available at select stations. Advance reservations are required. When you get to the station, check in with the station agent, get a claim check/baggage tag for your bike.

Are bikes allowed on Amtrak?
Each passenger may bring one bicycle
. The front wheel, large seat/saddle bags, handlebar bags, baskets or panniers must be removed from the bike before securing it to the bike rack. These items can be stored as carry-on baggage.
Can I bring a bike on Greyhound?
The Greyhound counts bicycles as oversize luggage. Oversize luggage costs $30 plus tax. Any traveling cyclist needs to bare this in mind. In addition,

Can I take a scooter on Amtrak?
Bringing an Electric Scooter on a Train
Amtrak treats electric scooters the same as electric bicycles
. There are no restrictions to taking a battery-powered mode of transportation on board as long as it is stowed properly. The added bonus to taking a Varla electric scooter is its size.
How do you use the bike rack on Amtrak?
After you flip up the luggage grates and drop the safety bars lay the front wheel on the ground and secure it with the velcro strap near the floor. Then hang your bike off the rear wheel. Secure with the straps on the arm that swings out and lock the safety bars back in place.
Can I take my bike on Merseyrail trains?
You can take your bike on any Merseyrail train if there is space
. All trains can accommodate up to two bikes and space is allocated on a first come, first served basis – we can’t reserve space for bicycles. There is no extra charge for bringing your bike.

You can take folded cycles anywhere, at any time on all our transport services
. (Electric scooters – folded or not – are not allowed.) For buses, the driver can decide to not let you travel if it’s too busy.
What is a plus bike?
The short version is that a Plus bike has
tires that are bigger than traditional tires and smaller than fat bike tires
. These tires are found most commonly on 27.5 rims; however, Plus tires also exist in both 29-inch and 26-inch formats (more on this later).
How much does it cost to bring a bike on Greyhound?
Pay the fees: Greyhound charges
$30 for any luggage over 50lbs
. Purchasing a bike box at the Greyhound terminal will cost an additional $10 if there are any in stock.
Do they weigh your bags at Greyhound?
