Can you rent kayaks at Sweetwater Creek?
During warmer months, the park rents fishing boats, canoes, kayaks
, stand-up paddleboards and pedal boats. Visitors can join the Park Paddlers Club, which challenges them to explore waterways in six state parks.
Can you swim in Sweetwater Creek?
The 215-acre George Sparks Reservoir is popular for fishing and provides a pretty setting for feeding ducks and picnicking. However, there is no beach, and
swimming in the Reservoir is not allowed
. Fishing supplies are available in the adjacent bait shop.

have been stocked. Sweetwater Creek provides some bank fishing opportunities, especially near the rocky outcropping in front of the bait shop. If we can get a sunny day, this rocky shoreline is a great spot to fish for crappie.

This loop trail is a
1.44 mile
loop trail which is rated moderate. It begins on the east side of Sweetwater Creek, heading north off of the Orange Trail just east of the Yellow Trail bridge which spans Sweetwater Creek. It passes through varied terrain and habitats in the northeastern part of the park.

, but back at the parking lot, a shallow mountain stream runs by the picnic area and it’s fair game. If you want to truly “chase waterfalls,” you’ll need a map. We recommend a weekend getaway through the winding, scenic highways of North Georgia.

the only entry is through the Toccoa College book store

A beginner-friendly hike takes you to the spectacular Toccoa Falls
. Park at the welcome center of Toccoa College. The trailhead is behind the welcome center, starting at the gates to the right of the center. The trail takes you along a creek on a gravel trail.
Can I bring my dog to Amicalola Falls?
Yes. It’s pet friendly
. over a year ago. We saw dogs, however if you are planning to walk up/down all of the steps they are a metal mesh like see through so if your dog is ok with that great otherwise be prepared to carry them.
