JAG attorneys are trained in and practice a very wide variety of law, including
criminal prosecution and defense

What does a JAG do in the military?
In the United States military, they are
charged with both the defense and prosecution of military law
as provided in the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Highly experienced officers of the JAG Corps often serve as military judges in courts-martial and courts of inquiry.
Do JAG lawyers get deployed?
Yes,
JAGs do get deployed to areas all over the world
. JAGs serve as legal advisers to military commanders and have many responsibilities, including providing legal opinions on whether military actions comply with the laws of armed conflict to prosecuting or defending service members in courts martial.
Active duty judge advocate pay currently starts at
between $55,000 and $75,000 per year
as a lieutenant junior grade (O‐2) and between $65,000 and $95,000 per year as a lieutenant (O‐3), depending on when the officer accepts a commission and where they are stationed.
What is the age limit for Jag?
Indian Army JAG Age Limit: The minimum and maximum age should be
between 21 and 27 years as on 1 Jul
2021 (Born not earlier than 02 Jul 1994 and not later than 01 Jul 2000; both dates inclusive).
How long is a JAG contract?
Active Duty: Active Duty Judge Advocates incur a
four year Active Duty service
obligation, followed by a four year period in the Individual Ready Reserve (an inactive, non-drilling military status). Army Reserve: Army Reserve Judge Advocates incur an eight-year service obligation.
Is it hard to get into Jag?
The
initial JAG training can also be difficult for attorneys with families
. Training begins with approximately six weeks of officer training focused on leadership skills and military tactics and then approximately ten weeks of JAG school (Marine JAG training is significantly more rigorous).

New Army Judge Advocates enter service as
First Lieutenants (O-2)
and are promoted to Captain (O-3) six to nine months later. Officers receive a raise in basic pay upon promotion to Captain and receive automatic pay increases after serving 2, 3, and 4 years.

What is the salary of Jag?
The Indian armed forces have their own court to upkeep law and order in its functioning. The Judge Advocate generals preside over this court. As for the salary, JAG officers upon starting out get a fixed salary of
15000/- INR per month
. After getting posted as a lieutenant, the salary goes up to 56000/- per month.
Can I join Army after LLB?

. There won’t be any written exam, if shortlisted, you will directly face the SSB Interview. The course will begin at OTA(Officers Training Academy), Chennai in October 2019.
Will Space Force have Jag?
55 Neither the House nor the Senate version contains any language establishing a separate JAG Corps or designat- ing a new senior JAG position within the Space Force. For these reasons,
