Is it bad to drive in Slap shift?
It’s never a good idea to shift your vehicle into gear
, whether from “Neutral” or “Park”, when the engine is idling fast. Shifting into “Drive” or “Reverse” can cause a sudden, jarring movement on the transmission which increases the stress on the transmission bands and clutch plates.
Does slap shift save gas?

paddle shifters do not save gas as they allow
the driver to override the automatic transmission’s programming and drive the vehicle more aggressively, which inevitably means using more gas than if the automatic transmission software was allowed to do its thing.

At what RPMs should you shift?
Generally, you should shift gears up when the
tachometer is around “3” or 3,000 RPMs
; shift down when the tachometer is around “1” or 1,000 RPMs. After some experience with driving a stick shift, you’ll be able to figure out when to shift by the way your engine sounds and “feels.” More on that below.

Is it OK to drive my automatic like a manual?

, because most automatics will even have a built-in option for the driver to use the gear selector like a manual stick. This is intended to give the driver a bit more control in adverse conditions, such as on hilly terrain.
Can you shift from D to L while driving?
Registered.
There is no problem shifting to L
because it is not actually a gear change but a SW signal to use higher Regeneration level. I keep it in L all the time. No harm will be done to the engine or transmission.
Does it hurt to manually shift an automatic?

. Unlike a manual transmission, which forces you to use up a little bit of your clutch disk every time you shift, an automatic transmission uses a fluid to transmit power from the engine to the driveshaft. So you’re not really causing any extra wear and tear.
Is it bad to put a manual car in neutral while driving?
Not only that, it’s also
unsafe as you don’t have full control over the car
when it’s in neutral. It means you can’t suddenly accelerate out of a sticky situation and you lose engine braking, running the risk of overheating the brakes when going downhill.
Is revving your car in neutral bad?

engine in neutral/park. Just not when its cold and dont hold it on rev limiter! Try not to, because free revving can damage the engine.
Can you go from neutral to drive without breaking?
Though
it will not harm your transmission to shift into Neutral
while your vehicle is in motion, the additional wear on your brakes by leaving the transmission in Drive will be negligible over the life of the brake pads. It is that minor. WRT “reverse”, this isn’t true on modern cars.
