Navy Pier’s Diverse Past
Numbering already more than a century of constant use, the Navy Pier has served the city of Chicago in numerous and quite different ways. It has been
a recreation and entertainment venue, a university, a naval base, an army base, a convention centre, as well as a food storage facility

Each ride lasts
about 13 minutes
and rotates three times. A ride on the old ferris wheel was only seven minutes and rotated once. The new gondolas have air conditioning and heating systems. This improvement allows you to comfortably ride the Centennial Wheel in Chicago’s painfully cold winters and hot summers.
Tickets for single rides are
$12 for military and children ages 3 to 11 and $15 for adults

Chicago will have its largest fireworks display ever this New Year’s Eve
