What fabric does fjallraven use?
G-1000
is our cornerstone material. We use it in everything from backpacks to jackets and trousers. It's a densely woven fabric made from 65% polyester and 35% cotton and, by using Greenland Wax, it's adaptable to a whole variety of different climatic conditions.
How do you iron fjallraven?

. I wouldn't be confident that the patch would hold as the rucksack flexes, though I guess that depends on the quality of the adhesive you use. Sewing will puncture the fabric and allow a little moisture through.

, but you want to be very careful when applying the iron, as it can easily cause burns or discoloration.
Does G-1000 shrink?
I own several garments made of the G1000, and have noticed
no shrinking from machine wash and dry
. I have found Fjallraven to be well thought out in fitting, so as long as you don't have an unusually long inseam there shouldn't be a problem.
Is G-1000 waterproof?
The fabric is durable, lightweight,
water resistant
and wind resistant; this makes it ideal for almost any outdoor activity, it is far more preferable to a conventional waterproof garment. G-1000 can even be adapted by varrying the amount of wax you apply make it more durable or more breathable.
