You can definitely use both products at the same time
. You won’t need the flea collar when you use the Sentinel.
Can you combine oral and topical flea treatment for dogs?
Yes, they work well together
. It kills the fleas on the animal, and the Advantage maintains the protection. They even suggest it on the box.
Can you combine flea treatments?
It’s not usually recommended to use more than one oral flea medication at the same time. However,
Comfortis and Capstar can be combined
. Another exception is Sentinel, which doesn’t kill adult fleas, so it can be combined individually with either Comfortis or Capstar.
Can I give my dog Sentinel and Frontline at the same time?
Yes you can give your dog Sentinel and a Frontlline spot-on between the shoulder blades or use Frontline spray at the same time
. Sentinel will stop the development of flea eggs but will not kill adult fleas which Frontline does.
Can I use Sentinel and Capstar together?

Can you use flea spray and spot on together?
Flea repellents and flea collars are preventative, slow releasing products that are not strong enough to affect a significant infestation. Always use products that claim they ‘kill fleas’ when you already have a flea infestation.
Don’t apply a Spot On Product whilst the cat or dog has a collar on – never mix products

Can you use flea shampoo and flea medicine together?
I would recommend using caution if the flea/tick shampoo and the topical product both contain permethrins
, particularly if you have a small dog. I recommend avoiding all over the counter products containing permethrins for cats since they are prone to toxicity.
Why does my dog keep getting fleas even after treatment?
Not treating often enough
Fleas go through a life cycle of egg, larvae, pupae and adult. Most flea treatments just kill adult fleas, but fleas can continue to emerge for months after you think an infestation has ended. When a newly emerged female flea finds a host, she can lay eggs within one day.
Can you use flea medicine and flea collar at the same time?
You can use these products together
, however there are safer and more effective products you can use to control fleas. Some of the products I recommend are Comfortis, Bravecto, and Nexgard. These are all very safe, work very well, and are oral tablets so you don’t have to worry about applying anything to the skin.
