per the National BSA’s amendment on the Lion program. Does a child have to be registered member with the Boy Scouts of America to attend day camp? No!
What is a Lion Scout?
Lion Scouts is
a fun introduction to the Scouting program for kindergarten-age boys and girls eager to get going
! Lions do adventures with their adult partners and other Lions every month. This program introduces youth and their families to Scouting and the outdoors as it builds a foundation of character.
How often do lion cub scouts meet?
Lion dens meet
each month
during the school year for a total of eight to nine months. You and your child should plan on two gatherings per month. As mentioned above, one meeting will be a den meeting and the other will be an outing or a Cub Scout pack meeting.
Can Boy Scouts sleep in a tent alone?
My son went through the cubs/scouts for 8 yrs and
never slept alone in a tent
. You could ask that he sleep in a tent with other kids his age. Usually 3-4 in a tent. The adults always sleep in their own tents.
Do Lions get Bobcat badge?
Kindergartners, who are Lions,
do not work on the Bobcat Badge
. On the advancement trail, a Cub Scout progresses towards a badge of rank based on their grade. They need not have earned the previous rank in order to earn the next.
Do Lions earn belt loops?
The Lion will also receive an adventure belt loop
, just like the older members of the pack. They can begin wearing a Cub Scout belt to proudly display these earned awards.
Can Lions participate in Pinewood Derby?
All registered Lions, Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos Scouts may enter a car in the Pack Pinewood Derby.
Can Lions earn the Outdoor Activity Award?

Do Lion Scouts earn badges?
To earn their rank badge, Lion Cub Scouts complete five “adventures,”
which are collections of themed, multidisciplinary activities. They may also complete fun elective adventures.
What is a jungle field day?
Jungle Day is
a day that is comprised of multiple active events
. You can complete this day as a family den and then report back to your pack what you did and compete with other families virtually if you would like.
Is a webelo?
“Webelos”
stands for “We’ll Be Loyal Scouts
.” As Webelos near the end of the Cub Scout trail, it’s time for them to embrace that pledge and prepare for the next leg of the journey: Scouts BSA.
When did Lion Scouts start?
The Lion Cubs program became available nationwide in
2018

Do Scout leaders get paid?
No!! The Scout Group, like all others, is run entirely by a team of volunteers.

acceptance of boys and girls ages 11 to 17 to join
and earn the highest rank of Eagle Scout. Girls will be in single gender troops but will have the option to “link” to a boys troop and participate in certain activities together.
