Canyon Park is a primitive camp ground located on the North shore of Canyon Lake
. The facilities include 150 campsites, two overnight shelters, one day use shelter, a boat ramp and courtesy dock, vault toilets, water fountains and over 8 miles of hiking and biking trails.

. Canyon Park offers 104 picnic sites with grills, 3 pavilions available for rent, and one 3 lane boat ramp with a courtesy dock.

Is there a fee for Canyon Lake?
Yes, in most parts of Canyon Lake you do have to pay to enter
. However there are regions where you can eat on the lake and go walk down to the docks where they rent jet ski’s and boats.
Does Canyon Lake have overnight camping?
Everything you’ll need for a pleasant stay at the lake is available on the marina premises.

The Army Corps of Engineers operates seven major parks on the shores of Canyon Lake
. Several others are managed by Comal County. Some of these parks provide campgrounds, beaches, picnic areas, boat ramps, and opportunities for shoreline fishing.

. Forest Service roads leading to Woods Canyon Lake are closed during the winter and open after the snow recedes usually in April.
Are there alligators in Canyon Lake?
It is not impossible for alligators to live in Canyon Lake
. Before Canyon Dam was built, the Guadalupe River ran murky and warmer than it does today. Stories exist of alligators living in the warmer waters of the river, but no one has seen them in years now that the river runs colder and clearer.
Is Canyon Lake nice?
The lake is very scenic and is surrounded by rolling hills
. The lake had plenty of water and boat traffic was moderate. We found a nice spot to anchor and floated in the after behind our boat.
Is Canyon Lake busy?
Canyon Lake is
never as crowded as some of the other popular lakes
. There are some small coves that are good for boarding or skiing and some excellent areas to drop an anchor and swim. The party cove will usually have 40 to 50 boats rafted up together and it’s typically a good time.
