An El Questro Visitor Permit is needed to walk Emma Gorge as well as all other attractions on El Questro

. Prices are $22 per adult and $11 per child aged 5-15 years. Visitor permits are valid for 7 days or day passes can be purchased for $12 per adult and $5 per child.

Is there crocodiles at El Questro?


Yes, there are crocodiles in the Kimberley, and most certainly some at El Questro

. The fresh water variety are usually timid and do not pose a threat to humans unless you physically annoy them. The salt water crocodiles on the other hand are another kettle of fish.

every major attraction along the Gibb River Road also has a campsite, if not right there then very nearby

How hard is the walk to Emma Gorge?

dogs aren’t allowed

to join you when visiting the many attractions at El Questro, such as Zebedee Springs, Emma Gorge and El Questro Gorge. It’s best if you can share pet-sitting duties with someone else.

is more than enough. You can also visit Emma Gorge from El Questro. “Experience” mean different things to different people. Fr me, 2 nights would be enough, unless you just want to relax a bit.

How much fuel does Gibb River use?

In our opinion it is always a good idea to carry

at least 10-20L

of spare fuel. It is nice to have that peace of mind, and you never know when you will need it, or need it to help others.

Can you buy food on the Gibb River Road?

A weeks’ worth of food –

there’s only one shop on the Gibb River Road

and it’s incredibly overpriced – they do sell coffee though! At least one spare tyre – it’s definitely more sensible to bring two, but it depends if you have room. At the very least, make sure that your first spare is in top condition.
