No matter what your own particular reason might be for wanting to submit more than one version of the Common App, here's the scoop:

Each teacher can write one letter of recommendation for you

, and this same letter gets sent to all of the schools to which you have assigned him/her on the “Recommenders and FERPA” section of the Common Application.

If you have courses for more than one high school that you would like to report in Courses & Grades, you can

click on “Add Courses from Another Transcript” button to add a new set of questions to the current grade year

. You can then select the other school from the school list for those courses.

Can I submit Common App one college at a time?

Through the platform,

first-time and transfer applicants alike can apply to multiple colleges at once

. So students only have to fill out details that most schools require, including name, address and extracurricular activities, one time.

Can you change Common App after submitting one school?

Once an application or writing supplement has been submitted to any institution,

you cannot make any changes to that application

(just as if you had dropped it in the mail), and we are not permitted to make changes on your behalf.

No, you only write one personal statement that all of your choices see

You can return at any time and change your answer to any question in the Common App tab for future submissions

You can use the same personal statement and additional information essays for all of your college applications

. The very purpose of the Common App and the Coalition Application is that they save you time. You won't need to re-enter your personal information for every application — and you won't need to write separate essays, either.

Can I use the same personal statement twice?


Yeah you can if you are reapplying the year after

if you were unsuccessful the first time round, they don't say it is plagiarism if the same person sent the same statement twice, seeing as you wrote it the first time round. Obviously if you changed your statement they will still check.

Can teachers see your Common App?


Schools do not have any access to your information until you add them to your My Colleges list

. At that point, they can see only the information you have filled out for their school. They cannot see other schools to which you are applying.

Can colleges see what other schools you apply to on Common App?

In general,

Can I use the same letter of recommendation for different students?


No. Separate letters of recommendation are required for each application you submit
