It’s completely safe to reuse coco coir
. Unlike peat and soil, coco coir is sturdy enough to be reused two or three times.
How long does coco peat last?
Cocopeat is light, easy to handle and can even be reused for

. The physical and biochemical properties of cocopeat make it resistant to bacterial and fungal growth. Cocopeat disintegrates slowly. It only begins to break down when it is ten years old, thus providing long-term benefits.

How do you reuse coco liners?

How do you pasteurize coco coir?
This method uses a five-gallon bucket with a lid and a thermometer. Coir is broken up, then inserted into the bucket. Spring or purified water is heated to 160-180 degrees Fahrenheit and poured over the coir. Then the bucket is capped with a lid to retain heat and allowed to sit for one to two hours.
Do you have to wash coco coir?
High quality Coco Coir should be washed thoroughly until an E.C of below 1mS/cm is reached
. Even after washing, there will still be Sodium and Potassium in the fibres of the Coco Coir which can only be removed through buffering.
Can you reuse Microgreen mats?
