As you outnumber Gareth, there will be no problem with killing him. Gareth's death
blocks the option to complete the Call To Arms quest

What do I do with the Shrine of Braccus Rex?
You can get it by completing The Vault of Braccus Rex. Once you have Bless, simply
use it on the lever to cleanse it
. Make sure you have at least 1 Source Point and interact with the shrine. This will lead to you getting an item for the Artefacts of the Tyrant quest.
How do you treat a pig burn?
In order to cure them,
you need the Bless spell
. You can obtain it by completing The Vault of Braccus Rex. Once you have it, go around Blessing each pig. A skeleton lizard will appear after the first one.
