How Beryl Bikes work: Find a bike or scooter at one of the many Beryl Bay locations around Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Unlock the bike or scooter using the mobile app. Ride the bike or scooter to your destination then find another Beryl Bay to park.
How do Beryl bikes get charged?
Beryl Bikes operate within large operating zones, agreed with the local authority.
If you lock a vehicle outside the operating zone, a fee will be charged
. If the vehicle is not brought back into the operating zone within 24 hours, an additional £80 fee will be charged to cover the cost of recovering the bike.
Can you leave a Beryl Bike anywhere?
When someone hires a Beryl bike they can ride it anywhere in Enfield, but are asked to park it in one of the designated bays.
If no bay is available, they can leave it parked anywhere in Enfield for a small fee
.
Do Beryl bikes have gears?
The Beryl Bikes come equipped with three gears
. The lowest gear will let you get up any hilly sections without too much puffing. The top gear lets you get some speed up when you're on the flat or heading downhill.
How fast do Beryl bikes go?
How fast does the Beryl e-Scooter go? The e-scooter can go up to
12.5mph
. Once you reach this speed, the motor will not go any faster.
How do you ride a beryl bike?
We use contactless tech on our smart bikes.
Simply hold your phone above our unlock pad to start riding
. A comfy saddle which adjusts easily to fit riders from 4'11” to 6'5′′. Front and rear brake lights come on automatically when you pedal, and remain on for 2 minutes when stopped.
Are Beryl bikes 24 hours?
Charges at the end of the 24 hour Day Pass
At the end of the 24 hour period, please make sure your bike is returned to the Beryl operating zone, and parked and locked in a Beryl Bay
. If your bike is not parked in a Beryl Bay at the end of the 24 hour period, you will be charged the standard out of bay fee.
Can you get two Beryl bikes?
You can only hire one bike from your account at a time

What happens if my Voi scooter runs out of battery?
A: If the scooter goes missing,
it needs to be reported to VOI
. We will send a team and try to recover it thanks to the IOT location. If not successful, we might involve the police and our insurers to investigate.
Are Beryl bikes tracked?
Beryl's distinctive emerald green bikes are now available for instant hire via the Beryl App.
The App tracks the GPS location of the bike
allowing users to easily access and unlock any Beryl bike simply using a smartphone.
Do you need a license for Beryl bikes?
To hire a Beryl e-Scooter
you must have a valid driving licence
. Before you are able to hire a Beryl e-Scooter, we require you to provide proof of your driving licence. You will be asked to take a picture of both the front and back of your licence in the app and upload it for verification.

The rental scooters can be ridden on public roads in Bournemouth and Poole as well as on the expanding network of signed cycle lanes and cycle/shared-use facilities

What time do Beryl scooters turn off?
Through the use of GPS data and geo-fencing, Beryl e-scooters will automatically and gradually slow down to three mph once they have entered the restricted area. It will be in force throughout the summer from
10am to 6pm

Can two people ride a beryl scooter?
