Because Medicare will not pay for medical services obtained outside the United States, if you meet the rules listed previously, CHAMPVA will pay after any other health insurance you have.

Does Champva have a deductible?
CHAMPVA has an
outpatient deductible of $50 per calendar year
and a cost share of 25% of the CHAMPVA allowable charge, up to the catastrophic cap, which is $3,000 per calendar year.

CHAMPVA generally pays the copays on covered prescriptions

Is dental covered under Champva?
Veterans and CHAMPVA beneficiaries have the opportunity to purchase dental insurance at a great rate. Purchasing a dental plan does not affect Veterans' eligibility for VA dental services and treatment.

VA will also provide
health care insurance coverage
for the spouses of certain totally disabled (whether rated 100 percent or receiving TDIU benefits) veterans under the Civilian Health and Medical Program, or CHAMPVA.
