How do you check if your tent is waterproof?

Where the tent material has been stitched together, check that the seams have been sealed. From the inside of the tent you should see that the stitching has a waterproof coating. It’s also important to check where toggles and ties have been stitched into the seams of the main tent fabric.

A tarp underneath the tent can help prevent wear and tear on the waterproof coating
. Always set your tent on higher ground than the surrounding areas. This will help the groundwater drain away from the tent and not toward it. If the floor is leaking, placing a tarp inside the tent can help keep the flooring more dry.

Are nylon tents waterproof?
Nylon and polyester fabrics (which tents are often made of) are
