Navy boot camp graduation happens on the last day of your
eight-week
training from Navy Boot Camp. For you to graduate, you must complete all physical training requirements such as the minimum number of push-ups, sit-ups and running a mile and a half in the maximum time allowed.
Navy boot camp lengthened to

Recruit training, or “boot camp,” will be

At Navy boot camp, a special recruit division is
responsible for performing musical pieces and drill routines at each boot camp graduation
. Selection for this unit, the 900 Division, usually takes place within a week of the recruit’s arrival at the Great Lakes Naval Station for basic training.

Training consists of:

You’ll get up at
5 a.m.
every single day. Waking up in the morning is an adjustment process that’s the same for every single basic training class. When you first arrive, the drill instructors require a lot of noise, yelling and jostling to get everyone out of the rack.

Navy Boot Camp First Phone Call
At RTC Great Lakes, all recruits are allowed a ten-second call to let their family know they have arrived.
Recruits that still have a cell phone make the call from their personal phone; others use telephones provided by the Navy

Service members who went through Basic Training said the Navy allowed
1-2 phone calls per month
. Army recruits are allowed to call every 3 weeks when they phase up, and then every weekend once they complete Basic and begin AIT.
What Happens After A School? After Navy A School, you have the option to take
ten days
of leave before you head to your first permanent duty station.
Graduating Sailors are authorized liberty following the
Pass-In-Review
(PIR) ceremony.

approximately 88 recruits
who live and train together. There can be as few as 55 to as many as 100 recruits in a division. The division number is important and will help mail get to your recruit when included in the address and will help you find your new Sailor at PIR.
