Navy boot camp graduation happens on the last day of your
eight-week
training from Navy Boot Camp. They constantly train hard and study as they make the transformation from civilian to military life.
The idea is to provide extra training, which could make sailors more “fleet-ready” upon graduation.
Recruit training, or “boot camp,” will be
approximately seven weeks
long. The goal of this training is to transform you from a civilian into a Sailor with all of the skills necessary to perform in the fleet.

As a petty officer second class, your level of authority will not change, but you will be expected to manage more resources and larger work groups or watch sections. In addition as a petty officer, you will be responsible for and to your subordinates.

The Navy offers a very few
two year and three year
contracts, where the recruit spends two or three years on active duty, followed by six years in the Active Reserves. The other services offer four, five, and six year enlistment options (The Air Force only offers four and six year enlistments).
You'll get up at

every single day. Waking up in the morning is an adjustment process that's the same for every single basic training class. When you first arrive, the drill instructors require a lot of noise, yelling and jostling to get everyone out of the rack.

Will I Be Paid in Boot Camp?
Yes, your pay starts the day you get to boot camp
. Most new enlisted Sailors start out at the E-1 pay grade, but there are exceptions. You may also be eligible for additional bonuses and allowances.
Is boot camp 7 days a week?
Basic Combat Training or Boot Camp is a
10-week
training course designed to turn ordinary men and women into exceptional U.S. soldiers. While at Basic Training new Army recruits will train for 12-14 hours a day, Monday through Saturday. Sunday is reserved for religious services and personal time.
Recruits receive pay while training at the grade of E-1 and the rank of seaman recruit. As of 2021, this rank earns
$1,785 per month

New Navy recruits will now have

U.S. Navy basic training is

Do you go to jail if you quit the military?
Attempted desertion also is charged as a military crime, as long as the attempt went beyond mere preparation
. Desertion carries a maximum punishment of dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of all pay, and confinement of five years.
Because Navy SEALs perform much of their work in and near bodies of water,
they need to avoid drowning or sinking in difficult conditions
. The drown proofing test takes place in a nine-foot-deep pool, with the trainee's hands tied and feet bound.
After that first day, normal days will run from 0600 (6 a.m.), with a loud whistle to awaken all recruits until lights out at
2200 (10 p.m.)
. Precisely at 10 p.m., lights go out.
There are no cell phones allowed in Basic Training
. This is a consistent rule for all of the military branches: Do not expect your service member to be able to call you, text you, or receive your messages when they are in Basic Training.
