The Cavehill Walk (the long, circular route) takes

Is the Cave Hill a volcano?
Geologically, the Cave Hill is at the southern end of the Antrim Plateau,
largely formed 65 million years ago by a series of volcanic eruptions
. The basalt rock was then worn down by subsequent ice ages and weathered into the smoother formations seen today.
Is cavehill a hard walk?
This is a lovely walk, but can be steep at some parts but benches the whole way up. Takes about and Hour up and then about 50 mins down. Go on a good day with little to no cloud or you will see nothing!
