Can you drive through Canyons of the Ancients?
When I went through the area, I drove to Lowry Ruins in Canyons of the Ancients. Once you turn off 491 after driving northwest from Cortez onto the CC or other nearby roads, you are deep in farm country. CC is paved (see Google Street View), but some of the way to Lowry is dirt.
