Most replacement home buttons won’t work
, so check carefully before starting your repair. Your iPhone’s original home button is uniquely paired to the logic board at the factory—and without Apple’s proprietary calibration process, even a genuine replacement home button from another iPhone won’t work.
iPhone users might be in despair when their iPhone home button touch ID gets into trouble or even doesn’t work after replaced home button. Why?

If this is why your Home button does not work,
try updating your software version
and see if that fixes the problem. You can do that as follows on your phone. Open the Settings app and tap System at the bottom. Choose System updates on the following screen to download and install available updates.

iPhone Home buttons do go wrong from time to time, often (frustratingly) a year or so after the warranty runs out.
Apple may be able to repair the hardware, but this can be expensive
– perhaps to the point where it would be more sensible to spend more and get an entirely new device.
