1) The plastic shoulder button broke on the inside,
disassemble remove the plastic R button, press the module button with your finger and see if it works, if it does work replace the plastic R button
. 2) The button module broke off of it’s solder joints, resolder. 3) The button module tabs broke, solder in new module.
Use your Y00 tri-point screwdriver to unscrew the back. Lift the hard plastic cover to expose the inside of the remote. Locate the ZL (or ZR) button. Use the tweezers to carefully lift and then push the ZL (or ZR) button up to put it back into place.
If you want to switch your Joy-Con’s SL and SR buttons, unscrew the board covering the Joy-Con rail, exposing them and its sync button.
If your replacement shells came with new buttons, you can pop them in now, taking care not to accidentally put the SL button in the SR slot
