Are Eureka and engage New York?
The New York State Education Department contracted with our organization in 2012 to create a mathematics curriculum called EngageNY, now known as Eureka Math. The curriculum is available on both the EngageNY and Great Minds sites for free download.
When did engage NY start?
EngageNY, which was funded through New York state's $700 million federal Race to the Top award in
2010
and launched the next year, has generated wide interest among teachers within and outside of the Empire State. The site has had more than 13 million users, according to the state's education department.

Where did Eureka math come from?
It began when the nonprofit Common Core Inc. — named after
University of Chicago standards
and now called Great Minds — responded to a request for proposals from the New York State Education Department and was awarded three contracts to write the curriculum.
How long are Eureka math sprints?
Have students raise pencils in the air until you give them the signal to turn the paper over and begin! Again, you time them for
