Who Has Introduced The Term Anxiety Of Authorship? This paper argues that 17th-century poet Anne Bradstreet’s “The Author to Her Book” resonates in Woolf, Gilbert and Gubar’s later remarks. As can be traced in the poem, what a woman writer experiences in writing is an anxiety of authorship. What causes the anxiety of authorship according
