Is Wichita Nomadic? Unlike many Plains Indians the Wichita had a mixed economy of nomadic wanderings and farming. For most of the year they stayed in permanent villages constructed of conical grass houses. The Wichita ancestral descent was matriarchal. Is Wichita sedentary or nomadic? The Wichita, like other Caddoan peoples, were primarily sedentary and agricultural.
