Are Quick Release Steering Wheels Safe? Since the airbag is removed and theres no detachable wheel that allows you to keep it (that i know of), its a safe bet that it wont feel good if you get into a serious crash. Are quick release steering wheels illegal? Is quick release steering legal or illegal
