Hetch Hetchy Entrance Station
is open only during daylight hours (approximately) and some roads are closed due to snow from around November through May or June.
Can I drive through Yosemite without a reservation?
A reservation is required to drive into or through Yosemite during peak hours
. A reservation is required to drive into or through Yosemite National Park from 6 am to 4 pm daily. If you are planning to arrive after 4 pm, please do not arrive at a park entrance station until after 4 pm.
What parts of Yosemite are closed?
The following areas remain closed: Yosemite Valley, El Portal Road, Wawona Road, Big Oak Flat Road, Glacier Point, the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, the Merced Grove of Giant Sequoias, Wawona Campground, Crane Flat Campground, Tamarack Campground, and several other sections of the Park.
Why is Yosemite still closed?

Is Tioga Pass open to Yosemite?
Tioga Road is open to vehicles from late May or early June to sometime in October or November.
When Tioga Road is closed, it is not possible to drive to Tuolumne Meadows or enter Yosemite National Park from the east

Highway 120/The Big Oak Flat Road into Yosemite Valley is
open year-round, but occasionally closes temporarily due to storms

Your most direct route to Yosemite is through the
Big Oak Flat Entrance or the Arch Rock Entrance
, which is located southeast of Big Oak Flat.
The Mariposa Grove and Mariposa Grove Road are
currently closed
due to the Washburn Fire.
Trail is
usually accessible throughout the autumn season
. Vernal Fall Mist Trail is closed in winter, but access is available via the John Muir Trail, which may be snowy. Hikers can reach the top of Nevada Fall by continuing 1.3 miles (2.1 km) along the Mist Trail (from Vernal Fall).
Within Yosemite National Park,
you may not sleep in your car or RV except in a campsite that you’re registered to stay in
(except at Camp 4, where sleeping in cars is not allowed because it’s a walk-in campground). Sleeping in your car along the side of the road is not allowed.

Going-to-the-Sun Road
Open for Summer 2022
Going-to-the-Sun Road officially opened on July 13 for the summer season. The road may now be fully accessed by motorized vehicles from both the West Glacier and St. Mary entrances across Logan Pass.
With Highway 120/Tioga Pass Road running along it’s north shore, Tenaya Lake is incredibly accessible when the seasonal road is open,
typically from May through October
.
The distance from Yosemite Valley to Lee Vining (on US Hwy 295) is a little less than 80 miles, but
it will take at least two hours to drive it
. That is if you don’t stop, which is probably unrealistic because of these gorgeous spots you’ll pass.
The area is closed
to prevent visitor injury and to decrease the potential exposure of NPS rescue personnel to COVID-19 due to rescue efforts
. All Lower Yosemite Falls Amphitheater climbing routes in this area are open but must be accessed by trails or routes outside of the closed area.
