An HDFC NEFT code is the 11-digit IFSC code assigned to your HDFC Bank branch, used for all electronic fund transfers in India.
What’s the deal with HDFC NEFT codes?
HDFC Bank doesn’t have a separate NEFT code—it uses the same IFSC for NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS transfers.
IFSC stands for Indian Financial System Code. Every HDFC branch gets its own unique 11-character IFSC: the first four letters are always HDFC, followed by a zero and six more digits (like HDFC0000003). The Reserve Bank of India assigns these codes to make sure your electronic payments reach the right bank in India’s massive banking network. According to the Reserve Bank of India, IFSC codes are required for every electronic fund transfer in India—no exceptions.
Where can I find my HDFC NEFT code?
Your NEFT code is simply your branch’s 11-digit IFSC, which you can grab from your chequebook, passbook, or online banking.
Here’s how to track it down:
- Chequebook – Flip to any page. The IFSC sits at the top-left corner, right next to “IFSC Code.” Example: HDFC0000003.
- Passbook – Open the first page (whether it’s a paper booklet or a PDF). The branch details section lists the IFSC next to the address.
- NetBanking – Log in to HDFC NetBanking, head to Accounts → View Passbook, pick your account, and the IFSC appears in the branch header row.
- Mobile Banking – Open the HDFC MobileBanking app, tap More → View A/c Details → tap your account → swipe to Branch Info. The IFSC shows up under the branch name.
- HDFC Website – Go to hdfcbank.com, search “IFSC code,” and type in your city, branch, or pincode to pull up the 11-digit code.
