is a general loss of appetite or a loss of interest in food. When some people hear the word “anorexia,” they think of the eating disorder anorexia nervosa.

of clinical severity, comparable to anorexia and bulimia nervosa. In our view, patients classified as having EDNOS should be offered regular treatment in mental health institutions.
Can someone have both anorexia and bulimia?

about one-third of those with
anorexia cross over to bulimia and 14 percent of those with bulimia cross over to anorexia (Eddy, Dorer, Franko, et al., 2008).
