Are UGG and UGGs the same?
Here at UGG Since 1974TM, we’re often asked whether we are the same company as UGG®.
The answer is a resounding no
(we are not related to UGG® in any way), but for those who aren’t across the UGG story, it’s an easy mistake to make. After all, our logos are similar, and we both sell UGG boots.
What does UGG stand for?
UGG usually means “
Ugly
,” but it can also be used as an expression of frustration (like “Oh no”) or recognition of an error (similar to D’oh!). UGG can also be an abbreviation meaning “You Go Girl” (i.e., another version of YGG.
How do you know if they are real UGGs?
Check the Soles
In fake ones, they are rigid and are very hard to bend. Real UGG boots also have half-inch thick soles. Fake UGG boots have thinner soles, having only quarter-inch thick soles at the most. Genuine UGGs have the registered R in a circle next to the “UGG” on the bottom of the soles.
How can you tell fake 2019 UGGs?
Look at the security labels.
Check the foil strip on the label behind the shoe size and the materials label on the left boot
. If there isn’t a sewn-in-label, there should be a security sticker on the sole of the left shoe. Turn your boot over to see the holographic UGG label with a sun symbol.

The only difference to me is there is
