Location: The camps are located in Greeley, Pennsylvania ; about 45 minutes northeast of Scranton, Pennsylvania. All three camps are within a 1-mile radius of each other in the Pocono Mountains.

What age can I do camp America?

Do I have to be a student to apply? No, you don’t have to be a student to be a camp counselor . However if you would like to work in a support staff role such as working in the camp office, kitchen, maintenance or laundry then you must be a student.
Is camp America worth doing?
Amazing experience
Yes you don’t get paid much, yes you pay more to go than you get paid there but it’s worth it . Working with so many different kids from all sorts of life is amazing. There’s not much time off as well but it’s still worth it.
How much money do you need for camp America?
I’ll start by saying that Camp Counselors must have access to at least $300 upon entry to the USA. Support Staff need $1000 . This can be in the form of cash, a pre-paid debit card, or a credit card. This is so that the US Department of State know that you have sufficient funds to cover the cost of your trip.

Most Summer Camps start between mid-May and late-June and run for about 9 weeks . You’ll spend 9 to 12 weeks out in America as part of your Summer Camp experience. It’ll be the time of your life!

What is a camp America interview like?
The people interviewing you will have been to work at camp previously and should make the interview very relaxed and friendly – it won’t be like going for a formal interview at a bank for example. Usually interviews are face to face but you might be asked to have one over Skype.
