Machine wash your garment as described in the wash instructions. Line dry your garment or tumble dry it on a warm, gentle cycle. Once it is dry, tumble dry your garment for 20 minutes to reactivate the durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment on the outer fabric.

What is DWR? Virtually all rainwear is treated with a DWR, or a durable water repellent finish . While a waterproof/breathable membrane will stop water from penetrating to a rain jacket’s interior, a DWR is also needed to prevent precipitation from saturating the jacket’s exterior.

Can I use TX Direct on softshell?
We recommend Nikwax TX Direct . The spray-on is best. Wash your softshell, but don’t yet dry it. Whilst still damp, hang up your jacket or trousers.
