is less well-known. Brown launched Soludos in 2010 as an homage to the traditional rope-soled espadrilles he wore growing up while on vacation on the Spanish coast. The name is an amalgam of “salud” (cheers) and “sol” (sun).

Do you wear socks with Soludos?
They are meant to be worn without socks
and the canvas and fibers give, as well as conform to your foot. They will fit like a glove after a few wearings. If you do want to always wear socks, either wear thin socks, or perhaps consider 1/2 size bigger in the shoe.

Do espadrilles run small?
As espadrilles are handmade there is always some variation, but on the whole
they come up a little small
. Obviously each pair is different, but we suggest going a size up, unless a particular style says otherwise.
Can espadrilles get wet?
What happens when espadrilles get wet? Espadrilles are made with natural fibers that absorb humidity and allow the foot to breathe.
These natural fibers will also absorb water, if worn in the rain
. But do not worry, if you get caught in a rain shower by surprise while wearing your espadrilles.
Can you put espadrilles in the washing machine?
Don’t throw your espadrilles in the laundry
! You can toss some shoes in the washing machine to clean, but espadrilles are not one of them. Since the soles of these shoes are wrapped in jute, which can unravel during the spin cycle, you need to clean canvas espadrilles by hand.
Are Soludos cool?
It’s crafted from a super soft upper “leather” that’s actually made from corn extract, while the outsole uses a mix of recycled cork and rubber for that just-right-bounce in each step.

Breaking in your espadrilles is extremely simple:
just wear them
! Generally speaking, two to three hours of wear are enough for the fabric, canvas, and sole to start adapting to the shape of your foot. Once you’ve done this, your espadrilles will fit you like a glove.
Are Soludos wedges comfortable?

– the toe area is actually cushy on the ball of the foot, and the toe cap doesn’t cut in at all. I’ve never owned a pair of espadrilles and I can’t lie that the price was discouraging, but the style of this shoe is exactly what I need and I’m so glad I invested.
