You can park the RV in the general Housekeeping Camp lot
(not next to your individual HKC unit, but in the lot next to registration). However, you cannot sleep in the RV, fire up the generator, etc. You can only park it there, just as you would a car.
Can you park an RV at Curry Village?
Follow signs for Curry Village, located in eastern Yosemite Valley. Rules & Regulations:
Sleeping in your car or RV overnight in a parking lot or along the side of the road is not allowed
. Please be conscious of your car’s alarm during quiet hours.
Can you cook at Housekeeping Camp?
You can cook outdoors and will be in the midst of a natural setting
. Curry is more structured- the tent cabins are still very rustic but more like a “room.” You cannot keep food of any kind in a tent cabin, although there are food lockers for you to use (food lockers are necessary at Housekeeping as well.)
Does Housekeeping Camp have showers?
Bathrooms are located throughout Housekeeping Camp (and are not private to each unit).
Housekeeping Camp also has showers
, which guests can use at no additional charge (non-guest can purchase $5 passes to use the showers, which do not operate by coins or timers). Towels are provided.
Why is it called Housekeeping Camp?
Visitors who brought their own went to the free campgrounds, and visitors who rented supplies stayed in a “Housekeeping Camp” – meaning
you kept your own house with no maid service

Where can I shower in Yosemite?
In normal circumstances, showers are available in Yosemite Valley at
Curry Village and Housekeeping Camp
. Showers are not available elsewhere in the park. Dump stations are available at Upper Pines Campground (all year), near Wawona Campground (summer only), and near Tuolumne Meadows Campground (summer only).
Can you cook at Camp Curry?
To help keep wildlife wild,
cooking isn’t permitted inside your tent cabin or anywhere in Curry Village
. If you’d like to grill, you’ll find picnic areas with grills in Yosemite Valley.

Do you need a lock for bear lockers?
No. You can’t put a lock on the bear box food lockers.
Why is Curry Village closed?
In response to rockfall events during 2008, the National Park Service realigned the boundary of the rockfall hazard zone in Curry Village.
To reduce health and safety hazards
, all of the structures within the updated rockfall hazard zone were closed.
Is Curry Village the same as Half Dome Village?
Curry Village or Camp Curry sits in an incredible location just below Half Dome and Glacier Point and is a unique and scenic place for families visiting Yosemite National Park.

How long is the hike up Half Dome?

14- to 16-mile
round-trip hike to Half Dome is not for you if you’re out of shape or unprepared. You will be gaining elevation (for a total of 4,800 feet) most of your way to the top of Half Dome.
