There is no hiking into the crater
. State park is $18 for adults and offers tours, but none descend into the crater. There is an interactive museum, astronaut wall of fame, and gift shop. This is a good place to take the kids and get some cool pictures, but you’re not allowed to hike around the crater.

Can you go inside a crater?
You are not able to walk down into the floor of crater
. You can however walk a little way down the side to a viewing platform.
Why is Meteor Crater closed?
As the threat of the Coronavirus has grown in Arizona the Governor has issued a state wide “Stay at Home” Order effective 5PM March 31, 2020. To comply with this order Meteor Crater will be closing indefinitely so that we do our part
to protect our visitors and employees
