Does WAG or Rover pay more?
The base pay for pet sitting or boarding is $26 per night. You can get paid extra if an owner has more than one dog or requests recurring walks, and you’ll receive 100% of any tips you earn. But here’s the kicker:
Wag takes a 40% cut of your payout
. That’s twice as much as Rover’s fee.

However, the glaring difference between the two is the fees: Rover charges a 15-25% fee and Wag charges a 40% fee. While you may want to look into both apps,

Can you trust Wag Walkers?
Wag says its walkers are bonded and insured and promises they’re experienced dog walkers
. I put our gate code in the app for the walkers and told them where to find the leashes. They’d come to the house, grab the dogs, and text us photo updates.
How long are dog walks on Rover?
There is no standard for Rover as each walker/sitter is independent. Rover does stipulate that a walk is

and, as you are well aware, the owner gets details from the Rover card.

Does Rover do background checks on owners?
Owners do not go through a background check
, any pet owner (not just dogs!) can sign up to Rover. It’s always best, as Rover suggests, to ask all your dealbreaker questions before setting up a meet-and-greet.
Do you tip a puppy nanny?
Tipping someone who provides a service for your dog is not required
, but it’s a way to show appreciation for a job well done. For those who did receive tips, 10 to 15 percent was the average.
