Short-acting anticholinergic
bronchodilator, ipratropium bromide has been recommended as first-line drug in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). More recently, long acting beta2-agonist (LABA) bronchodilators such as formoterol have been shown to be useful in COPD.
Is Ipratropium short term?

Ipratropium is used one time per day and lasts 24 hours. It should be used at the same time every day. These aren’t quick-relief medications, but they can add to the bronchodilator effect for certain asthmatics with difficult-to-control symptoms. Side effects of anticholinergic drugs are minor.
