How can I test my POTS at home?
The active stand test
can be used to diagnose PoTS. Under careful supervision, heart rate and blood pressure are measured after resting lying down, then immediately upon standing and after 2, 5 and 10 minutes. This test may bring on symptoms of PoTS and some people may feel unwell or faint.
What should you avoid with POTS?
When it comes to POTS syndrome,
diuretics and dehydration
are avoided at all costs. In fact increased fluid intake is typically recommended. So it would seem crazy to stress an already fragile system with alcohol!
Does POTS qualify for disability?
Your POTS may be considered a disability if you meet the SSA’s definition of disability and meet a Blue Book listing.
